WELL, Paris Fashion Week has come and gone … for another year.
Here are some stunning images from the Chanel Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2017 collections, and if you think you are looking inside the Chanel work rooms, you are. Literally.
Unlike previous years where Maestro Karl has made a speciality of the unimaginable with his super-scaled shows, this season he transported the entire Chanel atelier — every sewing machine, every pattern-cutting table, every bolt of fabric along with the more than 200 seamstresses (les petites mains) complete with the house premieres — to a recreated atelier “catwalk” at the Grand Palais, Paris, where a couple of the petites mains were fitting models and making adjustments, just as they would in the real atelier.
The workmanship is exquisite. But that’s what you pay for I guess!
Ever stylishly yours …
