Work it baby: One skirt, two ways

From breakfast meeting to dinner date, one skirt serves it up two ways

ARE you happy with what you are wearing right now? Can you throw together an outfit in five minutes that will take you anywhere with confidence and style?

A versatile collection of sophisticated but easy shapes and classic colours will take you to any occasion with style. And every woman needs a wardrobe that can work for her every occasion. If you keep the style and colour palette classic and neutral, the ability to dress up or dress down any garment means its value is greatly enhanced. I love that. And I love how one item can do double – or triple – duty giving you a great return on your initial investment. Cost per wear ratio. But before you buy anything always consider these things.

So with that in mind I’ve put together a small capsule collection around one central piece – a skirt. The neutral tone means it can be worn back with black, navy, brown or grey. Or with colours such as red, emerald green and coral or watermelon pink. Or as I’ve done here, stayed with the neutral theme and teamed with white, nude and denim for day, or with a gorgeous tailored silk jacket, crystal clutch and on-trend metallic accents for evening.

“Not only is the skirt doing double duty, its A-line shape is extremely flattering for many body types.”

Wear the skirt with opaque tights, boots and a coat for winter, or keep it chic with flats and a T-shirt, or a silk blouse and cardigan for summer. The opportunities are endless. But not only is the skirt doing double duty, its A-line shape is extremely flattering for all body types. Double bonus!

No matter what your occasion – a weekend breakfast meeting, lunch with girlfriends, drinks after work (maybe opt for embellished flats like these Country Road ones instead of the sandals ), or a more sophisticated dinner date – this skirt is guaranteed to serve you well for years to come.

How would you wear the little tweed skirt? Do you love the colour combination? Any other suggestions? Drop me a line and let me know what you think. Ever stylishly yours …
