How to rock a statement necklace

WHAT EVERY WOMAN NEEDS: How to rock a statement necklace
GIORGIO Armani once said “elegance is not about being noticed, it’s about being remembered”.  Being remembered is one thing, but what woman doesn’t want to be noticed?

The best way to be noticed — and remembered (sartorially speaking, of course) — is to wear something that makes a statement or becomes a talking point. So if the new season designer dress, bag or shoes are beyond your budget, a more affordable way to herald your arrival is with a statement necklace. It’s also a surefire way to make a simple outfit look fabulous.

Truth be told, every woman needs a collection of statement pieces — necklaces, cuffs, womens sterling silver bracelets, earrings and rings. And as the name suggests, statement (or costume) jewellery has to be big and bold, and look expensive.

But it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to make an impression. Nor do they have to be real. Dressed up for a night on the town or dressed down with jeans at the weekend, a statement necklace is a great way to inject some fun and personality into your outfit.

If you want to take it up a notch, layer with another complementary necklace, a couple of large cuffs, some oversized chandelier-style earrings or a fabulous cocktail ring (or three).

However, a word of warning: Don’t wear everything at once. Choose one or two pieces only and make a statement with them — two pieces such as cuffs and rings, or rings and necklace, or necklace and cuffs, or cuffs and earrings.

So, go on … make a statement!

Do you love a statement necklace? Got a favourite piece?  Or even a different way of wearing them? Would love to hear from you. Ever stylishly yours …
